Introduction to turbulent flows:

- Statistical Description of Turbulence, Mean Flow Equations
- Turbulent Round Jet, Turbulent Kinetic Energy
- Mixing Layer, Homogeneous Shear Flow, Grid Turbulence, Intermittency
- Energy Cascade, Kolmogorov Hypotheses, Energy Transfer
- Velocity Spectra, Kolmogorov Spectrum
- Channel Flow
- Boundary Layer, Coherent Structures
- Turbulent Viscosity Models
- Large-Eddy-Simulation
Accompanying the lecture, exercises are offered in which the students apply the acquired
methods and concepts using real data sets.
